Next Sunday, January 15, Pastor Nick will begin a new sermon series through the book of Acts. What better place to consider who we are as a church and what we are called to do?! The themes of gospel, family, and mission run throughout Luke’s record of the early church. Will you join us as we study this book together over the next several months?

We will take a break in April – May for a sermon series on what we believe and then jump back into the book of Acts after that.

So, please make plans to join us for this new sermon series during our Sunday morning worship celebration at 10:40. For a lineup of the rest of our regular services and activities, please click HERE.

December is a busy month in the life of the church (and with life in general). Christmas is an exciting holiday with our families and with our church family. To be sure you are aware of what’s happening with Richland during this busy season, below is a list of special dates to remember for the next month. We invite you to join us for each of the below activities, as well as every Sunday for Prayer Gathering (9:00 a.m.), Family Groups (9:30 a.m.), and worship (10:40 a.m.) and every Wednesday for supper (5:45 p.m.) and ministries for all ages (beginning at 6:30 p.m.). Sunday the 4th (12:00 – 4:00 p.m.) = Boot Camp Training for Children’s Christmas Program

Saturday the 10th (9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.) = Dress Rehearsal for the Children’s Christmas Program

Supper (for all interested kids and volunteers) will be served each evening (Sunday through Thursday) at 5:00 with the VBS program beginning at 5:30. We will be done right at 8:00 each night, and we’ll finish off the week with a big VBS family celebration (9:30 a.m.) and lunch on Sunday, July 28.

VBS is for children who recently completed preschool through sixth grade, with nursery only being provided for the children of our volunteers.

Thursday, November 29 (7:00 – 8:00 p.m.) = Are You Called into Ministry?
Have you ever thought God might be calling you into the ministry or missions? What if you sense a desire to be a worship leader or serve in children or youth ministry? Or, maybe you know you are called to preach but need some help refining that calling. If so, Preston Thompson (the Director of Missions for Grand Crossings Baptist Association) invites you to come to this introductory meeting for a new training ground that is being developed specifically for churches in our area.

Sunday, December 2 (2:00 – 2:45 p.m.) = Monthly Ministry at Fulton Nursing & Rehab
This takes place the first Sunday of each month. Anyone is welcome to join us as we sing hymns with the residents, and Pastor Nick preaches a short message.

Thursday, December 4 (7:00 – 8:00 p.m.) = Disaster Relief Ministry Meeting
Preston Thompson is calling all trained volunteers from Grand Crossings Baptist Association and everyone else interested in being a part of Disaster Relief to join us for this meeting. We are seeking to get more organized on how we can go out on deployment as an associational team and will also talk about the upcoming trainings.

Saturday, December 8 (9:00 – 11:00 a.m.) = Candy-Making Saturday
Join us for this family-fun event of fellowship and candy preparation for the Christmas season.

Sunday, December 9 (12:00 – 1:30 p.m.) = Recycled Teenagers’ Christmas Dinner & Party
Our senior adults are invited to join us for a Christmas lunch and gift exchange.

Sunday, December 23 (5:00 – 5:45 p.m.) = Christmas Candlelight Service
One of the highlights of the year for many people, this short candlelight service is a great time of worship through song, prayer, the reading of the Christmas story, and a short message.

Saturday, January 5 (5:00 – 8:00 p.m.) = Missions Supper and Pie & Cake Auction
Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to show off your best baking skills for a great cause. In our fellowship hall, we will have a pie and cake auction in order to raise support for those going on mission trips in 2019. We have missionaries going on trips to Guatemala, North Dakota, and Central Asia next summer. Here is what is required: 1) make your best 1 or 2 pies or cakes for the auction. 2) Invite your friends and family to come to the auction. Also, we will have a dinner for this event, so everyone can eat before the auction begins. Remember, this is a fundraiser and will be a fun time of fellowship for everyone. –Family groups are Bible study fellowships for all ages – children, youth and adults. Nursery is included for infants and toddlers, too. We consider family groups to be an essential ministry for discipleship and relationships.

10:40 a.m. – Morning Worship Service
–Morning worship is an essential time of growing in God’s Word together. It’s that time of the week when most of our church family is all together for the purpose of worshiping our Lord and building up His body. For those who are interested, we also provide nursery (toddlers and infants) and children’s ministry (kindergarten and below) during our morning worship services. Currently, Pastor Nick’s sermon series is “Discipleship 101” from the Gospel of Mark.

6:00 p.m. – Life on Mission
–Life on Mission is our Sunday evening worship service with discussion on how we can apply what we’re learning on Sundays to our daily lives and understand how to better live our lives on mission for God.

Wednesdays:

5:45 p.m. – Evening Meal
–Our Wednesday evening meal is a great time of fellowship and encouragement. Everyone is invited to join us for great food and fun together.

6:30 p.m. – Prayer and Bible Study / TeamKID / Youth Group
–With ministries for all ages (both children and adults), Wednesday evenings provide a great recharge for the middle of the week. The events include our adults’ prayer meeting and Bible study (from 6:30 – 7:30), youth group (from 6:15 – 7:30 for grades 6-12), and TeamKID (from 6:15 – 7:30 for all children who are elementary-aged and below). Currently during the adults’ Bible study time, Nick is doing “Ask the Pastor,” answering various questions about family, life, culture and ministry from a biblical perspective.

And from the very beginning, God had a plan to restore the relationship He knew we would break.

Supper will be served for participating children and volunteers each evening at 5, followed by the VBS evening program (games, activities, music and Bible study) from 5:30 – 8. VBS is for children grades pre-school (potty-trained and at least four years old) through sixth grade (those who just completed sixth grade).
